"That I want to be a country music singer worse than you could ever imagine. I would actually give up my baseball talent to be a country music singer and most people don’t know that."

Looking at the numbers, I'm assuming he made said deal in two parts
giving up his offensive talent for guitar playing after ‘05 and his defensive talent for singing after ’07. Hopefully, it’ll all come together for him in the offseason and he can follow his dream.

You know he'll play guitar...
…because it’s impossible to imagine him on bass.

Opening venue
He could start his career in an appropriately small venue, say, a Delta flight.

What baseball talent?
Snark aside, I actually despise country music

Could you imagine if Reyes said this same thing about dancing or becoming a reggaeton artist?
The media would be all over him that he doesn’t love baseball, that he’s not a team first guy.
Anyway, things we now know about Jeff Francoeur and his mind:
On-Base Percentage- Bad
Home Runs- Worst thing you can do in a rally
His Country Music career- more important than his baseball career (country music? really, he couldn’t have said hip hop or rock or something, ya know, good. Hell, I don’t listen to Jazz on a regular basis, but when I hear some I at least say, these guys are good. Country is just horrible.)

Fire up the spinners-
Jeff Francoeur officially hates baseball (and America, and pie) even more than Adam Dunn.

just what I was thinking
Reyes would be burned at the stake if he so much as hinted that he had other passions besides baseball.
Anyway, I’m going to be semi-contrarian and say that some classic country is very, very good. You can’t go wrong with Ralph Stanley (bluegrass legend) or Hank Williams or Willie Nelson. But as for the Toby Keith type stuff that gets put out now? Bleah.
Somehow, a chain of events unfolded that put Steve Phillips in a professional broadcast booth Sunday night so he could rip Carlos Beltran. Try to explain that in any other terms.

You should hear him sing...
believe me, he’s better at baseball. Shocking, I know.
