Ready your sarcasm detectors.
Fromt he article:
" Crazy, you think? I think it’s as real as it can get. His had hip surgery. The same surgery as Chase Utley and Alex Rodriguez and Mike Lowell. This injury, when fixed is fixed, period. "
1) The minute he signs, the other hip will go. Why ?. Because it’s the Mets, and he has 2 hips.
2) The injury is permanently fixed when anyone but a Mets’ doctor performs the surgery.
NIck Johnson is our best option in my opinion
But I’d take Delgado on a one year 5-7 million dollar deal over all the other options. I don’t want nothing to do with Adam Laroche.

Oh god No
I hope they try to trade for some one like Adam Dunn who can play left and 1st walks a lot and hits 40 bombs a season
Gangsta
I don't want Dunn
He can play left and first, but he plays them terribly. The 40 bombs and OBP are nice, very nice, but his defense almost negates it and makes him an average player, less valuable than Nick Johnson

No. Please.
I don’t want Nick Johnson either. If we’re going to have a 1B on the DL most of the year, we might as well bring Delgado back.
Most teams have at least 3 first baseman rotting on their bench and AAA affiliate. It’s the positional dumping ground for hitters.
I’m fine with having a “replacement level” 1B in 2010, since we could pay that player minimum wage, and use the money saved to pay players at skill positions.
Especially this off-season, when there aren’t any attractive FA 1B out there anyway.
Which teams have 3 mlb caliber
starting first basemen rotting on the bench or in AAA. I’d like to make a trade with those guys. If you don’t want Delgado or Johnson because of health concerns, you’d prefer a “replacement level,” that is to say, a replacement level first basemen in 2010. So you’d prefer to have, let’s say, Daniel Murphy for 162 games rather than Nick Johnson, who’d probably cost $5 million, $6 million tops, for 100 games and Daniel Murphy for 62. I wish you were the GM!
