and the marlins have a better record than us

A bad win
I DO NOT want the beard on my team next year.
Seriously
He looks like the bassist for a crappy jam metal band.

Dollars per win...
Doesn’t really work. Even if the Yankees went 162-0, it would cost them over $1M per win, whereas the Marlins could go 30-132, and still have a better $/W than the Yankees.
It’s interesting/depressing that all the other teams with giant payrolls are in the playoffs, and this is our 3rd straight year with no appearance.
Nice indictment of the front office, as if we needed another example.
Dollars per win is more for the purpose of research; not really a measure of efficiency. But your point is totally valid.

Yes, but as you pointed out
we are the only team with a mega payroll that will be playing October golf.
has our GM assembled a better supporting cast for our core, instead of signing shit players, we would have been far more competitive. Forget this year….I am talking about the last 3 as one entity.

I'm 6th with 12 posts
sad
"We're investigating the investigative procedure of the investigation of Tony Bernazard"---Omar Minaya (he really didn't say it but he would"
We have to win once in a while.
So that it doesn’t look suspicious that we are losing on purpose. Those Nats and their awful defense really make it hard. Luckly we have Frenchy, who lines out and act angry destroying the cooler. Well, he also gets bonus points for grission, “love of the game”, leadership and playing with his heart. So that might as well be in self interest.
what is this place like when the games actually matter
i’ve only been here for 2 months or so
"Solo homers usually come with no one on base." -Ralph Kiner
busy. 1000 posts per game not unusual.
..and I’ve only been here about 4 months (since Metsblog locked everyone out).
I've been here much longer
and therefore am better than both of you.
When the games mean something the gamethreads generally consist of stimulating conversation and analysis, funny gifs, and the occasional profanity-laced shouting match. Those who engage in shouting matches are kindly asked to leave.

the game threads
are consistently more entertaining than the game itself.
A lot of those 1000 posts tend to be
“DelgaddddoooOO!!!!!!” or something
