While owner Fred Wilpon says GM Omar Minaya and manager Jerry Manuel will return next season, there is a chance hitting coach Howard Johnson might unfairly take the fall for the Mets' poor season.

there's nothing unfair about it

he told wright to alter his approach.

he should be blacklisted from baseball for that.

but I also think

that Wright gets some of the blame for listening and staying with the changed approach.

He’s the star, and makes 100 times more money.

He could have told Hojo to fuck off after 2 months. What was Hojo gonna do ?. Go on SNY and bitch about Wright ?. I don’t think so.

Exactly fjm...

Hojo shouldn’t have even been back for this season anyway. If he wasn’t an 86 guy this wouldn’t even be a discussion.

Well, that's another strike against my willingness to continue to root for the Mets.

Maybe that pisses off our superstar

though in retrospect, it might have been foolish to put the “baseball father” of one of our superstars in such a position where you can’t fire him without potentially alienating said star.

Nothing can get by him; especially in a small room: Mike Francessa
