As for free agents, Holliday is the best bang for the buck, so if we can only sign one free agent, I’d obviously be down. As for other free agents, I like Endy Chavez, Adam Everett, and, of course, Ramon Castro.

but like half of these guys will not be free agents. brian roberts signed an extension last season and joe mauer definitely isn’t. in fact he probably won’t ever be a free agent. then guys like beckett and lee will have those options picked up.

I am convinced Holliday will stay in St. Louis. I mean, why would he want to leave Pujols’ team and come play for this organization. It’s not like he is a NY guy or anything like that. Then again, money talks. I just don’t see it.

I’m also pretty convinced the others you mention will find other teams while the Mets debate if they should offer Livan Hernandez a 3 year / $36 million contract.
