Pat Misch Audition? Really?
Initially I was laughing at the idea that Misch was one half of a "very promising" battery, but the 'article' goes on to set up this outing by Misch as something of an audition for the 2010 rotation. Based on one start. Now I realise the Mets are somewhat screwed, but is Pat Misch really even close to being an SP option next year?

It seems mor like Mets propaganda
to the tune of “Hey keep watching! Pleeeeaase,” rather than an actuality.
Of course, I’ll be watching for Thole not Misch.
I'm sure that's exactly it
but I wonder at what point even WFAN types will have their credulity stretched by nonsense like this. It has to get counterproductive eventually, surely!
I guess who are our current candidates
Santana, Pelfrey, and Perez (ugh) are locks
then guys like Niese, Maine, possibly Parnell?
Outside of the big name FA’s who else is a reasonable possibility.
Will Gee be ready next year
Should one of our starters get hurt

Wouldn't count on him for anything
King of the bling come to lay down the evidence//Not George Bush, L-Millz be da president
Isn't Niese pretty much a lock?
Oh wait, that’s right, this is the Mets we’re talking about. If Pat Misch is in our rotation, it better only be because about 20 other guys have gone down with injuries.

not on one leg, he isn't.
Niese will need to prove he’s ready to pitch every 5th day after what happened to his leg.
Will Carrol's usually right.
So I’ll take his word over yours, no offense.

I would not mind Misch
competing for #5 with Maine, Nieve, Niese and Gee, but the Mets really need a solid #2, or at least a reliable #3 to stabilize the rotation.
Sadly, Nieve might be considered a candidate
Not that I’d endorse him, but the way this team thinks…
If this is actually true, and he's in our 2010 rotation...
I will actually consider not watching the Mets anymore, and switching teams. Because that’s actually the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. Fortunately, I don’t think even Omar is THAT stupid.

I think you're overreacting.
Misch just has a chance in September to prove that he is worth a chance to fight for #5 in spring training. Nothing wrong with that, since it’s pretty much given that he fails in the process.
Thing is, he'll probably get 4 or 5 wins
because he’ll happen to play on the days when there’s run support, and then he’ll be guaranteed a rotation spot next year. At least, that’s how it always seems to happen with everything else.
