One competing GM said he could see the Cubs seeking to pay about half the $21 million remaining on Milton Bradley's contract in order to trade him. Another GM said he felt, considering Bradley's issues, they'd have to pay nearly all of the money to be rid of the temperamental slugger.
From Jon Heyman's latest at SI. I'll stop banging the Milton Bradley drum for now, but I felt this was worth sharing.

we get mad at the defensive gaffes we make now
i dont think most of us could survive a milton bradley era with the mets.
fielding percentage?
that sounds about right

Nobody here is suggesting keeping Francoeur.
The fact that Francoeur sucks doesn’t make Bradley a good idea. There are plenty of better options than either one of them. The only way I’d take Bradley would be if we sent away Ollie.

I wouldn't trade K-rod for Bradley.
I think too many people are worried about his option. He’s still a good enough closer that he’s worth keeping, even if he is overpaid.

and I could insert a similar video here where bradley throws a ball into the stands with 2 outs
both plays are ugly and neither player is the solution to our problems

I'd use the one when Bradley tears his ACL
while being restrained form attacking an umpire.

i almost felt bad for him, just cause .. i mean come on… who gets injured getting taken down by their coach? But then i remembered he was a tool and felt less bad

exactly.
UZR likes him at CF and RF, and oddly not much in LF.

We’re wayyyyy too image-conscious to bring in that guy.
And he’s not even a gamer!
Milton Bradley on the Mets is about as good an idea as the Giants trading for Brandon Marshall.
There comes a point where a bad attitude can be detrimental to your value.

How would the Giants getting Brandon Marshall in any way be a bad thing.

Yeah, having problem child Plaxico Burress on the team really hurt them
Not to mention Lawrence Taylor way back when

Plax certainly made a mess of last season.
And Plax looks like Mother Theresa next to Brandon Marshall.

I think the difference between Marshall and LT/Burress
is that Marshall is a complete malcontent. The 2 Giants had/have their issues, but I don’t believe either ever done something like proclaim that he hates the team’s city in an effort to get traded.

+1
Plax was a model citizen during the Super Bowl run. The guy played injured all season and never said a word. Then he started making a stink for more money, got a big contract, was late to some practices, had a few other problems, and then finally shot himself in the leg, and the Giants didn’t exactly thrive without him. Football is much more of a true team sport than baseball, and guys like Marshall, while talented, have a much greater chance to hurt your team in football than they do in baseball.

Bradley > Frenchy
is like saying plague > ebola, because the plague is slightly less deadly. I’d still like to have neither.
