Citi Field Improvements, Via Jim Baumbach
Jim Baumbach of Newsday is at Citi Field, Tweeting pictures of various changes to Citi Field. Here is a stairwell wall, now painted orange:
Baumbach says some stairwell walls are painted blue. This is a welcome upgrade to the formerly grey walls, which gave off an Alcatraz vibe. He also has a picture of construction on the new Citi bullpen. Good job by the Mets, who have generally been receptive to criticism of Citi Field. No ballpark is flawless in its debut season.

I'd really just love to see the outfield wall lowered in most places.
And painted blue, but lower them first.
The Mets lobby Omar for a plan, and his plan, he likes his plan. The problem is that he didn't write his plan down 'cause that makes it paperwork, and that’s false hustle... Know what I’m sayin’?
Blue with Orange lines could work
but keep the height. It’s distinctive, gives the stadium character and in theory is a home field advantage.
Other teams
won’t have players like Wright (allegedly) trying to change their approach. I’m not sure if that’s an advantage.
Yes lower them first...
that way there’s less to paint, and the savings in paint can be passed on to the fans.
Aw, but I like the Alcatraz feel to the new stadium
and it apparently fit well with the mob contracts they gave out.
If there's ever a riot at Citi Field and Oliver Perez was the starter, I started the riot.
I wish I had made it to the stadium last season, but at the same time I'm not too upset I missed it.
Hopefully I make it to the city this year to catch a game or two. At least the place will have a more finished look to it.

It was nice. Me and my father went early in the year, and it's gonna be cool over the next couple of decades to see things get progressivley dirtier and dirtier.
There was no gum on the floor, for instance. That’s not going to last long.

How does orange and blue painted walls translate to better home field advantage?
The lack of that disgusting orange color gave me joy now its back because ppl complained. The Stadium has flaws but the color is much ado about nothing!
Lower the walls.
Bring back the prospect of baseball’s most exciting play. Citifield’s fences rob us of even the PROMISE of a real Endy-catch moment.

Orange walls bad. Blue walls good.
That is all.
LOWER ThE WALLS
or we will be talked about as the team with no home runs for the next 40 plus years.
