Alderson Day Applesauce - Mets to meet with Sandy, already met Byrnes, Waits out, Valentine sends back Fish

We get to hear from this guy for at least another 4 games.

Meet the Mets

It's Alderson day at Citi Field with the Met ownership team meeting with the MLB executive today, a day after meeting with former Arizona GM Josh Byrnes. Another potential name can probably be crossed off the list (although it doesn't seem like it was ever ON the list), as Texas appears sure to sign Jon Daniels to a long-term extension.

Ted Berg argues that the Mets should basically stand pat for 2011 and I can't disagree with him. Also, Ted finds an amazing Met shirt.

Apparently, we're not done hearing from Jeff Francoeur as the New York sportswriters are desperate to speak to a familiar face on this Ranger team. More here.

Minor league pitching coordinator, Rick Waits, appears to be leaving the Met organization after 15 years.

MetsMerized's Joe D manages to brag about beating Amazin' Avenue in fantasy while discovering Jose Lopez's clutchness.

Around MLB

Bobby V withdraws again from consideration for the Marlins job.

Some significant baseball anniversaries to take note of: 7 years since Bartman and 50 years since Maz.

Bobby Cox is looking forward to yelling at kids to get off his lawn.

Bryce Harper to AFL.

Somehow, Lookout Landing leaves Jeff Francoeur off the list of players you'll get sick off if their team wins it all.

Minnesota is likely to get rid of Orlando Hudson, I can't wait for round 3 of the Met speculation.
