As I stated before, there are 3 candidates(or at least, my 3) that should get looks. Withuot going through the whole thing again, let me briefly summarize:
Bobby V. He turned down the Marlins, he's out of the running in Seattle, so that leaves the Blue Jays(a chance), Pirates(no chance), Cubs(they're waiting on Girardi, one way or the other). Would Alderson(I think he'll be the GM) take the chance? It didn't end well, but you never know.
Wally Backman. Everyone's choice in the media(consensus) to get the job, he's never managed above Single-A(let's see him get some high-end minor league experience, like Sandberg in Chicago), he's too aggressive(yeah, the players need a kick in the rear end, but he'd kick too much), and he's got a record(not saying he's a hardened criminal. Never would, but with K-Rod's problem, and the overall perception of the team, you know.......). In a different time, he'd be the right man for the job, but not now.
Chip Hale. Well respected, highly thought of, but young(45) in managerial terms. I hope he at least gets an interview.
So vote in my poll as to who want to see succeed Jerry Manuel as Mets' skipper.
