The arbitration hearing set for Monday that would have decided the fate of the MLBPA's grievance against the Mets for converting Francisco Rodriguez's contract to non-guaranteed has been canceled, which almost certainly means that the two sides are approaching a settlement agreement. Rodriguez's 2011 contract (and presumably his $17.5 million vesting option for 2012) will likely be back on the table, though the Mets may be trying to renegotiate the terms of those two years, perhaps at lower salaries.
