Mets GM Search: Logan White No Longer A Candidate

Stay connected for news and updates

According to numerous sources, Dodgers assistant GM Logan White was told by the Mets this morning that he had been kicked out of the shore house and is no longer being considered for the GM vacancy. He will return to his role with the Dodgers.

The Mets are expected to whittle the field down to a group of finalists, possibly three, perhaps as soon as today. Sandy Alderson is almost certain to be one of them, and likely two of White Sox assistant GM Rick Hahn, former Diamondbacks GM Josh Byrnes, and Red Sox "assistant to the general manager" Allard Baird. There's a good chance that Dana Brown, the lone minority candidate and assistant to the GM of the Blue Jays, was included mainly to appease the commissioner's office's front office consideration requirements. Race aside, he's the only candidate with zero experience as a GM or assistant GM, and that as much as anything makes him the longest shot of this group.
