We all wanted the Rangers and Giants to win, and indeed, we have our pressure-free World Series that we can all enjoy. Let's break it down further:
Both teams won the Western Division in their respective league.
Both teams beat the Eastern Division champion, and Wild Card representative from the East.
Both teams won their respective LCS in 6 games.
Both teams ended their LCS by striking out a corner infielder looking.
Both LCS MVP's(Josh Hamilton for the Rangers, Cody Ross for the Giants) went 7-20(.350) in their respective series.
Both Hamilton and Ross are outfielders.
Some similiarities to the Giants last World Series appearance in 2002 are:
The Giants are facing a team in both series(Angels in 2002, Rangers in 2010) that are making their 1st World Series appearance in franchise history.
Bengie Molina is the starting catcher for both the 2002 Angels, and the 2010 Rangers.
The Giants beat the Braves in the Division Series in both 2002 and 2010.
The Giants were heavy underdogs in the NLCS in both 2002(to the Cardinals) and 2010(to the Phillies), but won both series.
Should be a fun series. Let the games begin.
