Good news I suppose, as long as it's not a horrible contract.
At the very least we’ll get an early read on how the incoming administration will be handling contract negotiations.

That's the thing
yeah, there’s the “deadline,” but if both parties (Mets/Tak) agree, the deadline can be extended. It’s part of their contract, and they can obviously change that. There really is no Oct 31 deadline, if they’re interested in doing a new deal.
