Update: The Times is reporting that the suspension is gambling related.
Charlie Samuels, the Mets’ longtime clubhouse manager, has been suspended after the team learned he was tied to a federal investigation into illegal gambling, according to two lawyers briefed on the matter.
With a tersely worded statement.
"Last Wednesday, the Mets suspended Charlie Samuels indefinitely without pay. As this is an ongoing personnel matter, we have no further comment."
Perhaps the Mets are holding Samuels accountable for these uniform disasters.
