The Interactive Hall of Fame Ballot
Check it out at Beyond The Boxscore. I just spent ten minutes comparing all of the 2011 HoF candidates to the average HoF-er.
John Olerud is basically right around the average with a slightly higher WOM (wins over MVP) than the typical HoF-er.

Comparing candidates to the HOF median may be tricky
I suspect the total quality of the hall of fame is somewhat diluted by the lot that were elected in by the veterans committee. I have no knowledge of how to quantify it but there are many who don’t deserve to be hall of famers. The median will necessarily be lower than what we consider the “typical hall of famer.”
Lenny Harris is also on the HOF Ballot
But actually trying to include him on that graph would have caused it to collapse on itself.
Why is Harris on the ballot?
Isn’t there some sort of vetting procedure to get on? What group of baseball people would have put him on?
The sad thing is
you know Tino Martinez will get votes.
Keith deserves to get in
