I would've preferred to keep Pedro

but for some reason we lose a draft pick, which doesn’t make any since. I don’t really get the whole type-a and type-b thing and I should really read up on that, but meh.

Type-B means we get a supplementary pick if another team signs him (the signing team doesn't lose a pick)

Type-A means the signing team loses a 1st rounder and the player’s former team gains that pick.
The supplementary round is right after the 1st round.

Why would we lose a pick? We didn’t sign any Type A or B free agents. The Mets gain a supplemental 1st rounder (a pick between rounds 1 and 2 meaning likely in the area of 30-50 overall).

The Wilpons hired Omar, kept him around, and now are the ones claiming that a billion dollar gift of a ballpark isn’t sufficient to picking up a good starter and 2bman this season. Omar gets some blame, of course, but not the lion’s share of it.
