AAA 2011: Cover Update

Yesterday I described the process of selecting the cover for this year's Amazin' Avenue Annual. As of yesterday we were stuck because the photo we want to license from Getty Images would cost us $664, which would be impossible to justify given how few copies we're likely to need. I went back and pleaded our case to Getty and was able to get them down to around half that, which is a lot better but still a big chunk of change. We're still trying to figure out what we want to do here and will keep you posted as things progress (or move in some direction, at least).

UPDATE: A number of you have already contacted me about pitching in to pay for the image and a couple of you have generously offered to pay for the entire image expense. I'm overwhelmed by the kindness and liberality of the community here. It looks like we'll have our cover photo after all!
