I like this idea
This is exactly what Ollie, K Rod and Maine need.

Just another cheap high school move from Manuel
Hey, his emphasis on fundamentals and hitting the other way worked so well last year…
Here’s an idea if you want pitchers to throw strikes — don’t sign Oliver Perez to a three-year contract.
I agree
However, Manuel didn’t sign him. He has to do something. I am not sure this will work, but it seems pretty harmless.
I think the Mets hit better out of the gate last year, and some thought his hitting drills helped.

I don't see how that'll help any...
But, if it somehow does, all the better.

Not a bad idea.
I doubt you need to do this with every pitcher, but sure, if it gets Oliver Perez to stop walking seven guys a game like he was doing for one recent stretch, I’m all for it.
i feel like working on mechanics might be more important than just tallying how many strikes and balls they throw
If a pitcher is throwing a lot of balls, its not because they just don’t want to hit the strike zone badly enough, its because there is some flaw in their delivery. I’m not against this drill since it will allow them to analyze where the problems lie a bit early in spring training, but it doesn’t do much to actually fix the problem, just diagnose it.
