Who wouldn’t be interested in a catcher with a short swing and lightning powers?
You don't cheer for the Mets. You drink for the Mets.

i heard he once was the catcher for a double-header
while working for the circus
On his property, Mr. Frazier has created a number of places to unwind — or as he said, "just chill."

the rangers actually have good catchers too
maybe they’re planning on moving Salty for something though.

it's Omar's world, we're just livin in it.
They were the other team that was interested in Barajas
but Jon Daniels is definitely not on Omar’s approved trading list. He’d somehow get Omar to send Allen and Familia as throw ins.

Jon Daniels grew up a Mets fan
We’re trading Omir, Castillo and Ollie for Andrus, Perez and Smoak, count on it.
They have a pitching prospect named Martin Perez
who’s almost as awesome as Feliz, maybe we can swap them out without anyone noticing.

what would happen
if a GM for a small market team had some kind of handshake agreement with the Wilpons that he’d be the GM of the Mets after this season, and he lets Omar “fleece” him in a trade, knowing that he’ll have awesome players for the Mets next year. That would be awesome, if incredibly unethical.
2009 Did Not Happen
I imagine major punishment from MLB
I just have no idea what the punishment would be. I know in the nfl there’d be major tampering sanctions, like loss of hella draft picks, but I don’t know what, if any, punishment is outlined by MLB rules.

I would take the loss of draft picks for the next few years
for Smoak, Andrus, Feliz, and lets throw Martin Perez and Ian Kinsler in there as well, if they take Frankie’s, Ollie’s, and Castillo’s contract off our hands.
In fact this is how a Jon Daniels/Omar trade would go down
We’d send Omir, Castillo, Allen, Famila and for Michael Young

No, we'd just get Young's contract.
The Rangers would somehow actually keep Young.

Jon Daniels grew up a Mets fan
Is that true? Didn’t know that. Maybe he can find a way to trick Minaya into acquiring him to be the new GM. Omar can stay on and head the amateur scouting department.
"Relax, all right? Don't try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring; besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls. It's more democratic."

yeah, he is a Queens boy
went to nerd HS, then Cornell. So he probably has a soft spot for the Mets, but I doubt he lets that affect his bidness dealings.
Maybe if we offfered him bazillions
he’d leave the rangers and return as the long lost son to return his former home to glory…and maybe he could bring Jack Z with him.

oh right
thanks for reminding me that my Cornell classmate has a job that’s so much more awesome than mine
I went to his HS too
and I spend all day moving TPS reports from one side of the desk to the other.
At least in another 30 years I can retire and start a second career bagging groceries.
are you using the new cover sheets?
I’ll get you another copy of that memo.

oh yes that inside the park grand slam
is definitely bringing every team to their knees to get their hands on Omir.. (<— Sarcasm) Don’t outfielders learn, you don’t grab for the ball THEN signal for a ground rule double… Anyway, assuiming this situation where teams would be willing to trade for Santos only works in our favor. 1) We need to dump some catchers anyway (some suggest Coste becomes a manager since he is only there to mentor Thole but that would never happen). 2) Its always good to have another player you can always throw into a trade situation 3) The Rangers and the O’s both have good second basemen.. cough cough
Lol yeah
I think it’s safe to say we’re not prying Kinsler away from the Rangers unless the name Wright is involved.

I love the trade ideas at Metsblog
Adam Jones, Scott Feldman, A #2 starter…
Pinella: Where th f*ck was that pitch at?
Ump: Lou, don't you know that you're not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition?
Pinella: Where the f*ck was that pitch at, a$$h*le?
Lol last year one of them said he'd kick Jon Daniels in the face
if he wouldn’t trade Kinsler and Feliz for Pelfrey and throw ins.

And I'd like to be dating Anne Hathaway,
but that ain’t happening, either.

I was thinken the same
what contacts does Pignataro have? Doesn’t he write for nybd? that’s a trusted source….

Matt Pignataro only BELIEVES they are interested, also.
I can believe a whole lot of things that have no credibility whatsoever, and that are probably not going to come true…

A trade would only make sense if we got equal or higher meme value for him.

why would we trade Omir for that
when we’re already paying Bobby Bonilla and have all those great pictures of Mo Vaughn and Giuseppe Franco for free?
memes are easy
just if the past two weeks, we’ve been blessed with Pinkie, Goose Gulp, and el infierno (AKA “the pupil”)
not everyone can hit a GW grand slam in Fenway. That is Santos’ true value.
John Maine
also don’t forget “that’s poor”
