The View From Your Seat: Mets vs Nationals, 4/11/2010
Some pics from Sunday's stinkfest against the Nationals, and now we're officially caught up and have had photos submitted from all six games this season. I'm pretty sure we won't be able to keep up that pace all year long, as road games will be especially difficult to get, so if you're going to see the Mets away from Citi Field definitely bring a camera and send us your view. Going to a Mets minor league game this year? Snap a photo from your seat!
This one is from Vr6vroom just before the Mets took the field, from Section 513, Row 3.
BobbyV_Incognito grabbed this shot from Section 331, Row 7.

Send the view from your seat to amazinavenue@gmail.com and if it's good we'll post it on the site. Include date of game and your section (or location) from when the photo was taken.

I think
part of the fun is seeing the field from the vantage of that seat. At least that’s my feeling.
If Donald Trump is a reader
maybe he can send in a picture from the front row.

I wasn't commenting on this feature or the pictures
just taking a shot at the lack of unobstructed views. Last week I was sitting almost directly behind home plate and still could see when Bay made that catch running into the corner.
I still don't really understand this complaint
unless you sit in the upper rows of any stadium, you’re probably going to have a slightly obstructed view of the game. There were plenty of obstructed views at Shea Stadium. I’m sorry if having to glare over a railing bothers you, but personally I think it’s preferable to having people plummet to their deaths
2009 Did Not Happen
agreed
The views at Citi have been great everywhere I’ve sat, and I don’t really get the complaints when you consider what an improvement it is. The middle decks at Shea had major overhang problems, too — in the upper rows of the mezzanine you’d lose every fly ball until it was practically on the field again.
For me the adjustment has been more about figuring out which seats have better views relative to their pricing, which is a very different calculus at Citi than it was at Shea. I find the lower rows of the upper levels are a much better deal at Citi, and the further-from-home-plate seats on the lower levels a much worse deal, at least compared to my previous perceptions.
Totally agree
I sat in the second row of section 507 on sunday and in section 401 on opening day and loved my seats both times. (Even if I couldnt see Wright’s homer leave the park on OD.) If I had comparable seats at Shea, I’d be about nine miles above home. But section 507 gives you a view comparable to the loge at shea, despite being the top deck.

Really my only complaint
is about the seats going down the lines that hug the field. If you’re sitting basically anywhere from foul pole to foul pole at any level you’re not going to be able to see anything down the line because of them. And of course the stadium is much improved, but in terms of the view I was always fine with the Shea vies from the Upper Deck behind home plate. Sure the upper level seats are a little closer (and some of that is because there are less seats) but I don’t really notice much of a difference.
The lines
that disappear in Citi are still visible at Shea, and that affects the view from the sides also. Not a huge deal, just something to complain about when you’re sitting through a John Maine special.

These pics make Shea look very pure and beautiful
but I do like citi.

I can get a ;pic
of the Bisons from McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket around the 25th
"We're investigating the investigative procedure of the investigation of Tony Bernazard"---Omar Minaya (he really didn't say it but he would"
I think it would be helpful to have a timestamp on the pictures
Because there have been a lot of empty seats shown, and I would like to know if that’s just a 1st inning, people-not-in-their-seats-yet thing, or if the games are not being well attended.
Mine was taken at 2:08 pm.
Looking closer, I can see that it’s during Ian Desmond’s 2nd AB, right before he hit into the 9-2 DP. to end the top of the 3rd. The announced attendance was 33,672. The seats in front of us did stay empty the entire game, but there were a lot of people milling around the field level, especially behind right field.
Omar & Jerry are conspiring to drive me to drink. That, or they're just honestly totally incompetent.

513
is where I will be on the 23rd. Looking forward to it.
Darrelle Revis once won a game of Connect Four in three moves.
Last October
I went to the Astros series, and I sat in 305, 526 and 105. I have to say I liked the Pepsi Porch view the best, other than not being able to see Frenchy most of the time. 105 had a huge black hole in the corner if I recall correctly (I missed Carlos Lee’s Walrus-like attempt to dive for a ball) and 526 was just a long way away, though the view was fine. Also the Pepsi Porch is handy for getting down to the food quickly. Which is obviously important.
I prefer the Coke Cellar
These days, anyway.
