The big news is the Ryan Howard extension. Five years, $125 million. The verdict among most rational folks is resoundingly negative. (More here and here). Among Met fans, it's a sigh of relief. (More here). Among less rational folks and moronic sportswriters, it's well received. Among Albert Pujols' friends and family, it's the best news ever.
