I was hoping to see Jake batting 5th (or 6th)
but no such luck. Jerry’s not going to alter a red hot winning lineup!
I was hoping to see him on the pine...

maybe he should clone himself

places i'd rather see mike jacobs than at first base
- kansas city
- bagging groceries
- bare knuckle brawl with milton bradley
- seaside heights getting hit in the crotch with paintballs for 5 bucks a turn
I think I'd rather see him under my bed than at first base
Goodbye Sir Dr. Sen. Brain SOCKS! D.D.S.R.S.V.P
I bet if Omar volunteered for that last one, the Mets could afford a 400 million payroll.

It would definitely be Jerry for me
I’m still convinced Omar is a sane baseball mind who’s just trying to escape the mets madness.
in billionaire russian playboys we trust.
Plus Jerry's kind of a douche
Omar kind of reminds me of my grandpa. They kind of look alike and he can’t speak English for sh*t either.
in billionaire russian playboys we trust.
What's your score
Mine is Mets 4, Marlins 3.
Speaking of scores. What ever happened to that contest?
I support Jenrry Mejia as a starter. Screw you Jerry Manuel for thinking he's a set-up man.
Swag or not
It gave me something to root for in a loss, like a Castillo bunt.
I support Jenrry Mejia as a starter. Screw you Jerry Manuel for thinking he's a set-up man.

On that note
What will be the bigger total tonight: Frenchy walks or Jacobs hits.

Anyone notice how
the local papers made it seem like GMjr. played a stellar centerfield on Monday? Because he caught the 8 balls that were hit to him. No one mentioned how he caught them. I know it was windy, but come on.
Like F!
Oy last year was a horrible season.
I support Jenrry Mejia as a starter. Screw you Jerry Manuel for thinking he's a set-up man.

on the bright side
if it gets played enough on ESPN it will probably be enough to convince Omar and Co he’s actually an awful fielder regardless of any other evidence.

Hopefully
there won’t be a top 10 worst Mets plays list this season.
Sunny days ahead? Probably not.
It had all the hits.
The pop-up, Dodger Stadium, F!, Emil Brown etc.
Sunny days ahead? Probably not.
Oh I assumed it was at the end of the year (I never watch ESPN unless there's a game)

So it might be a good day to spring for the app if you (like me) can’t afford the full MLB.tv ticket.
Can we file a grievance
against Jerry? I feel like there has to be some obscure rule somewhere that would allow it.
in billionaire russian playboys we trust.
I am LIVID
LIVID that Pagan is not starting and has apparently lost his job to GMJ before he ever got it. I really think Pagan is a sleeper, the type of player who could easily outperform all of his projections or at the very least be a valuable trade chip once Beltran comes back. The idea that he rides the pine because Jerry Manuel, without any evidence, has hunch that GMJ can play everyday and is a vet, gritty etc is infuriating!! One game and this guy claims the starting job. And don’t blame the wind for how shaky he looked in the outfield.
Clueless
Umm...what can I say other than...
THIS!!
I support Jenrry Mejia as a starter. Screw you Jerry Manuel for thinking he's a set-up man.
Agree agree agree
’tis an injustice, the likes of which has not been seen since…shit forever.

You need to hope
GMJ goes 0-5 cause if he doesn’t, Jerry will “ride the hot hand.”
Sunny days ahead? Probably not.
It's pagan's fault
for not reaching 20 triples in half a season. That’s poor, Angel.
by Mackey Sasser on Apr 7, 2010 7:13 PM EDT up reply actions
yep
Jerry already said GMJ is that hot hand. What a fool. Willie was better, I now conclude
He'll be a valuable trade chip that gets grossly undersold.

Well...
If Matthews had more range, he could have played shallower. Most good CFs play a shallow CF, so I think a good CF would catch that.
Beltran always played pretty deep.
but, yea i have noticed that also
by MetsKnicksRutgers on Apr 7, 2010 7:24 PM EDT up reply actions
Yeah
Beltran, and Griffey are exceptions to that standard, I think. But most good CFs play shallow.
if Reyes was playing
Cora would have had a better defensive alignment going there
in billionaire russian playboys we trust.
nor did he look good pitching to Uggla
He had Uggla all mixed up with the off-speed stuff, and he just refused to mix in a fastball at all (even though the one fastball he threw got a check-swing strike from a clearly confused Uggs). You can’t just keep throwing changeups and hope they’ll never catch up.
Yeah,
but he made a good pitch to Maybin. And the Ramirez hit was right over the bag. and Uggla was lucky. He actually pitched OK
Uggla wasn't lucky
The pitch Uggla singled on was a changeup right down the middle. He was looking off-speed the whole at-bat and Maine didn’t use the fastball to keep him honest.
Nothing really got hit that hard, just stuff that found holes.
Not much you can do about that, and it’s fair to expect that with the Castillo/Cora/Jacobs/GMJ/Bay defense of death out there.

First, Maine is gonna have a tough year if his fastball can’t add get to 92 consistently. I’ve only see him hit as high as 91, but he’s mostly been around 90. Second, this going to the mouth rule is stupid. Lobby the return of the spitball!

Jerry...
Metsblog says GMJ will continue to start in CF as long as he’s playing good defense and hitting well. So pretty much he’ll play everyday until Beltran gets back? And then Pagan will be traded. Right. That makes sense. * facepalm *

I don't get all the Figgy talk
he was average at best…had a good run IN THE WINTER against mediocre competition. He’s 36 and his stuff was average at best.
Mets used 11 starters last year.
The rotation is the same as last year, with similar risks. There was no reason to drop a potential innings eater, even if those innings were slightly below average.
Why not?
Figgy over Mejia was the right call, imo.
actually we could
green has options, so does Meija (who should be in AA anyway), and Igarshi

I think Green is good in situations. Meija yeaa I really don’t understand that one.

I guess the players. Hanley reupping with them is some kind of loyalty. The owner doesn’t care the fans don’t care.

They really got the entire Marlins fan community to take part.
well you could be silent like them or Jerks like the Dolphins fans at the phinsider

they need to finish up before 11, with a win of course.

I love calc 1 and 2
even if I screwed up on 3 of my four test in calc 2. Calc 3 I had no idea what was going on. I was just happy I passed with transferable credit
i loved calc 1
hated calc 2 at first but I’m starting to come around. I’m not sure if I’ll take 3 I’m probably taking linear algebrea next.
in billionaire russian playboys we trust.
My calc 3 teacher spoke russian, I didn;t learn one thing in that class
And it sucks because I only need one more math class for a Math Minor, but I’m terrified if I have to know calc 3 or even calc 2 which I took freshman year (I’m a junior now).
The reason I loved calc 1 and 2 is cause I had a great professor, he was nice and made everything so easy to understand.
lol my first calc 2 teacher spoke russian I ended up dropping
cause I had no idea what was going on. Now I have a grad student and she’s awesome.
in billionaire russian playboys we trust.
I should have dropped Calc 3
I never studied more for one class in my life, usually because I never study, and still that’s my worst grade.
Yeah, I've got an essay to write.
Oh well, a win and no sleep will be worth it.
Good time for a steal
