Um, that's why Jason Pridie is on the 40-man roster.
At least he's close to being off the team.

So I'm thinking we start recycling the "who?" jokes for Pridie
Because clearly, Omar doesn’t know who he is.
If there's ever a riot at Citi Field and Oliver Perez was the starter, I started the riot.
In Omar/Jerry World, if you've ever played CF in the majors, you'll always be a CF

Or in the Metsblog world
I read some of the comments, and there is one guy who seems like he has a clue. This guy is trying to reasonably explain why he doubts Francoeur gets much better then this, only to be bombarded with posts like " Oh yeah, so you think the second half of last year was a fluke?!?!?!?!". Or “No way! Frenchie’s defense is the best in the league!!!”. The guy doesn’t even have a chance.

yeah I had to x out like half way through the comments
I don’t think I could ever comment if I wanted to but I knew even trying would just lead to circular arguments and frustration.
I wonder if Carl Everett believes Jamie Moyer exists.
and yeesh there's even a commenter who wants JaKobs back.

I got MJ'd by some clown on
mlbtr.com last night
I pointed out that a dead Michael Jackson is currently better at baseball than Mike Jacobs.

The bench philosophy is hard to understand.
Tatis is the only one who is an emergency catcher,
Cora is the only one who can play SS, and
GMJ is the only one who can play CF.
Therefore all three are locked in and don’t have to produce at all? Ok then…
I wonder what people think of Jacobs on the bench since he can provide some lefty pop (which is what Catalanoto was supposed to do) and can serve as an emergency catcher. But of course, he doesn’t hit bit league pitching much either.
Um, well… we already have a lefty (check) who is a bench player (check) and certainly has pop in his bat (that’s a check!). Dumb idiots.
Where there is a Wilpon, there is a way. To lose.
BTW, that emergency catcher argument is overrated.

Francoeur's defense
was a common subject that I noticed as I skimmed through the metsblog comment jibberish.
My perception of him from watching the games is that he is lazy but has a great arm. I checked out his defensive stats: he was clearly an excellent outfielder over his first three seasons (05-07) at 4.67 +/- and 21 UZR/150. His 2007 was so good that he was a net positive over the last three seasons .67 +/ and 5.4 UZR/150. This season, his +/- is 3 and his UZR/150 is 2.4.
Obviously, most of those fools commenting at metsblog are way too high on Francoeur’s defense, but he’s probably an average fielder at worst.

I agree,
I have nothing to complain about in terms of Frenchies defense right now. He seems good coming in and going to his right but less comfortable going back and going towards the foul line, although he always seems to get the job done, even if it’s not pretty.

I don't know
I doubt I’ve seen a slower right fielder than Frenchy in a long while. He’s really, really slow to me.
ain't had enough...
So why isn't Pridie taking GMJ spot on the roster?
Did Omar watch ST games? Does he follow Buffalo’s gms? Does he watch every critical AB’s GMJ has sucked at. How mant time is GMJ unable to just get a fly ball with a runner at 3rd less than 1 out?
In order:
No, of course not, obviously not, and all of them.
May you be locked in a battle of wits against Jerry Manuel.

The deal with Omar
When given a rational suggestion, it’ll go through one ear and out the other, unless he detects a buzzword.
