I wonder if Carl Everett believes Jamie Moyer exists.

by Gina on May 12, 2010 12:33 PM EDT reply actions

Do you still use streams or did you get mlb.tv?

I’m tired of only getting to see the Mets play when they are against the Nats or on national tv.

by Brittannia on May 12, 2010 12:34 PM EDT up reply actions

i got mlb.tv

finding streams got too frustrating

I wonder if Carl Everett believes Jamie Moyer exists.

by Gina on May 12, 2010 12:37 PM EDT up reply actions

How is it?

Which package did you buy?

by Brittannia on May 12, 2010 12:39 PM EDT up reply actions

I got the hd package

I’ve had no problems so far, but the ps3 streaming has been choppy.

I wonder if Carl Everett believes Jamie Moyer exists.

Stammen has actually been quite solid; pounds the strike zone (1.13 BB/9), gets groundballs (50.5 GB%), and has a very nice 3.38 xFIP.

What today's lineup should have looked like:

Reyes SS
Carter RF
Wright 3B
Bay LF
Davis 1B
Pagan CF
Barajas C
Cora 2b

by David G on May 12, 2010 12:35 PM EDT reply actions

I would like

SS-Reyes
CF-Pagan
1B-Davis
LF- bay
3B-Wright
RF-Carter
C-Barajas
2B-Cora

by Rickfansince76 on May 12, 2010 1:07 PM EDT up reply actions

Either would be better

Frenchy needs a break and Reyes needs to leadoff again

4-2 Homestand

Would be nice after that disaster in Cincinnati and Philly.

Those stats have to be wrong for WAR

The beat writers keep telling me David Wright sucks and should be traded. Im not looking at stats, watching him play or doing anything until they tell me hes good.

So we're okay with Rod going playing the day game after a night game?

Not a knock on Roddy but more because I want to see Thole get a start and we don’t have an off day for awhile

If there's ever a riot at Citi Field and Oliver Perez was the starter, I started the riot.

Agreed

Really doesn’t make sense to not let Thole play today

by metsman07 on May 12, 2010 12:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Jerry doesn't know how to use him

actually I imagine it’s because we have Pelfrey going and he wants the veteran game caller working with him. Though in that case I suppose Santana is the only pitcher they’ll let Thole catch.

I wonder if Carl Everett believes Jamie Moyer exists.

I think catching Ollie

would screw with the poor kid’s psyche.

by dontstopbelieving on May 12, 2010 12:51 PM EDT up reply actions

true

forgot about Thole, seems like a decent day to give the kid a chance. If you call him up, use him. Don’t punish him for not hitting well in the minors in a small sample. He proved he could hit last year. And it’s not like he hasn’t caught Pelf, so that’s no excuse. Maybe it’s because the Nats like to run. Today’s lineup would have been a lot more interesting with Thole and Carter in there.

Glad he struck out

Another hit and he’d probably get some starts.

I saw Cerrone wrote today that the Mets asked GMJ about accepting a minor league assignment, which he refused. And that the organization is “very aware” of Jason Pridie. Which is funny, in that, I’d hope they’d be aware of their players, but you never know with this group.

But I’m hoping we see a Matthews-Pridie swap before long.

Mets will "try" to rally, Gary.

But we both know they will simply roll over and let the Nats take their lunch money and a “W”.

This game is FINISHED. Once again, the Mets show just how UN-CLUTCH they are!

maybe I should start calling the Mets, THE MUTTS? this is just pathetic.

Some of us just want it so that his shitty option doesn't vest

and he is probably better than at least half of our current relief staff.

by Brittannia on May 12, 2010 4:40 PM EDT up reply actions

exactly

at least if he blows games in the 7th it won’t vest, and we’ll at least be putting out 13.5 million dollar investment to use. Now we’ll lose and he’ll still get a game closer to the vest.

by blains2000 on May 12, 2010 4:54 PM EDT reply actions

One thing I've noticed about Jose's bat-swing :

It almost looks like he is swinging in the general vicinity of where he believes the ball will be and hoping for the best as opposed to the tried-and-true adage of “See the Ball, Hit the Ball”.

This results in more Pop-ups and fly-outs than base-hits. I swear that Jose might be the king of the Pop-up/Fly-out. Base-hits are few and far between with him.

by BrockRocks on May 12, 2010 4:58 PM EDT reply actions

That's not to say I know jack about hitting but still

Jose has not looked good at all. And this a very alarming situation.

by BrockRocks on May 12, 2010 5:00 PM EDT up reply actions

how is it alarming

he’s missed 10 months of baseball and been back for like a month, or not even that long I don’t think. Chill out he’ll figure it out. He always goes through stretches where he looks bad. The problem isn’t Jose, it’s Jerry’s idiotic managing, a suspect rotation and bullpen, and the guys not named Wright, Bay, Davis and Reyes in the line up, and I guess Barajas.

I wonder if Carl Everett believes Jamie Moyer exists.

by Gina on May 12, 2010 5:01 PM EDT up reply actions

True True True to all you said.

It is so damn frustrating that we seem to have a team that hits one day and doesn’t hit the next; have a Manager that looks like Einstein one day, Beavis&Butthead the next.

I’m just ticked off by how badly this team has underperformed.

by BrockRocks on May 12, 2010 5:03 PM EDT up reply actions

They're not really underperforming.

They’re a decent team that might make a run if everything goes right for them. Jose shouldn’t be batting third, that’s David’s spot except Jerry & the MSM are too dumb to realize it.

There may be sunny days ahead.

by Brian. on May 12, 2010 5:06 PM EDT up reply actions

i'd disagree

they’re a decent team that might make a run at 86 wins. but that’s about all they’ll be making a run for.

I wonder if Carl Everett believes Jamie Moyer exists.

by Gina on May 12, 2010 5:14 PM EDT up reply actions

1.5 games out of the WC.

We should’ve won about 6 games more than we have, but again, we’re right there.

by freakystyley on May 12, 2010 4:58 PM EDT reply actions

If Jose's been cold,

then why is he batting third?

There may be sunny days ahead.

by Brian. on May 12, 2010 4:59 PM EDT reply actions

Jose probably can't bunt

because good players usually are never asked to bunt in the minors. Not because he’s deficient. Jerry is a complete dumb ass for asking him to sacrifice in the first place with no outs. Giving away outs is just as bad as base running errors.

I wonder if Carl Everett believes Jamie Moyer exists.
