oh brother
Yes, Reyes has been a mess this year, but he “evaporated” under Willie Randolph? Yes, a 5.9, 5.4, and 5.3 WAR from 2006-2008 is dreadful. How about we give him a little time to come back from serious health problems before we declare him washed up at age 27?
As for Wright, forget it. Nothing more needs to be said about the asinine ragging he gets for not making Jeff Francoeur and Oliver Perez better.

why are people convinced reyes wasn't good in 07 and 08??
I wonder if Carl Everett believes Jamie Moyer exists.
becaus of Teh Chokke!
It’s Reyes and Wright’s fault for not making Scott Schoeneweis better.
And yes, Reyes had a horrible September in 2007, but Randolph ran him into the ground that season, and he clearly was out of gas by the end.

Yeah I don't understand it
I’ve read that a bunch of places now. Even if you don’t buy into WAR he was just as good offensively in 2008 as 2006. People confuse team performance with Reyes performance and seem fixated on his Septembers.

I really don't like stupid people.

I really don't like people in general
and the stupid ones make up a disproportionate amount of the population… so me too.
Save Jenrry Mejia!
Even if the Mets wanted to trade them
they shouldn’t now anyway, especially Reyes. You try to sell assets at highs, not all time lows. They would get a good return on Wright, but I doubt equal his value. What would Reyes get back at this point with his injury questions? 50-60 cents on the dollar? No thanks.
Jose' looks a lot weaker and thinner this season.I would imagine this is a result of
his thyroid condition and his continued treatment and medication.I hope it’s not a result of going off those other "things"because of his condition.

So tired of this
If I owned the Mets, rather than contributing to all the garbage spewed in the tabloids by taking a “big trip” to Atlanta, I would call out the jag-offs who continuously disparage this team.
We are by no means perfect and there is a lot of negatives out there to discuss but the subject matter of these tri-state area hacks is really starting to get on my last nerve.
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but Jerry abuses the privilege.
Yup
That was basically my point here — the Mets PR strategy should include having someone out there, on any medium possible, basically calling guys like Ringolsby and Klapisch out for their idiocy.
Jeff Horowitz is in charge of most of the Mets PR when he manages
to stay awake. He is in charge of most of the things that make you scratch your head and wonder "What could the Mets be thinking "?

Jay Horowitz, not Jeff.
May you be locked in a battle of wits against Jerry Manuel.

Well, don't I look smart now.
Thought I’d made that mistake about 2 seconds after I hit ‘post’.
May you be locked in a battle of wits against Jerry Manuel.

I pretty sure
he’s just in charge of logistics and coordination with the media and not any type of message or strategy.
"The Mets have to decide if Reyes will ever be the star they projected in 2006, when, at times, he was one of the National League’s five best players."
Is this a joke? Was he not a star for the next two or three seasons?

David Wright needs to start playing All-Star calibur ball?
Ok, no matter your position on Wright and his possible descent from his 8 WAR seasons, you simply cannot claim that Wright has been anything other than All-Star caliber.
John Olerud, Hall of Famer. Got a nice ring to it.
Sure you can. He sucks! Winner!
That extensive analysis now qualifies me to become a Mets Beat Writer.

Ringz?
