This post is a day too early.
It should have been put up just before first pitch. Too many things can happen between now and then……..
Jerry could make Beltran run sprints during the pre game to see how the leg holds up, and Beltran could hurt the other knee.
KB could ask Beltran to sit on a chair for an interview, and the chair could be broken, and Beltran could get hurt.
Omar could do a press conference with Beltran to announce “these are the new Mets”, and Beltran could fall down the steps as he exits the podium.
Adam Rubin could trip Beltran in the hotel lobby.
One day, this team is going to kill me.
His taxi could get into an accident on his way to the stadium...
Save Jenrry Mejia!

shut up dont jynx it
knock on wood
Gas prices today are a lot like a pitcher's ERA. Anything under 3 is amazing, under 4 is pretty good and anything 5 and up is something you want to avoid.

I doubt KB would have Beltran sit on a broken chair, he'd be very careful.
Because as we know…
I bet Jerry Manuel just bunted.
I can't wait.

It's time....It's time....It's VOLTRON time
All the stuff Ted Berg kept posting about “remember when” has made me look forward to this.
I support Jenrry Mejia as a starter. Screw you Jerry Manuel for thinking he's a set-up man.
speaking of those...
anybody watch those videos…see where the two HRs were hit and then think….oh shit, in Citi I don’t think that’s a homer.

It's too bad that Reyes will be driven onto the DL before too long.
We should have traded the core while they still had value!
and I'll form...

I think that's Dickey.
Seriously, why is his right foot Ramon Castro?
Doy.
Dickey’s the ligamentless right arm.

Meh
Beltran is a nice player, but his return doesn’t excite me THAT much. I hope he doesn’t affect the winning chemistry that Pagan and Francoeur had. They’re both in midseason form, too, and doing a nice job defensively and driving in runs. What kind of form is Beltran in?
Also, the conditions will be extra-tough for Beltran
-Huge gaps to cover in AT&T Park
-Giants pitching staff
-Time zone difference

I would assume all the Mets have been out there since yesterday early.
So I don’t think the time zone difference will be an issue
No.
I callled Joe & Evan yesterday and brought it up, and they both agreed with me. I realize most of you consider the WFAN hosts uninformed, but I happen to think they know their stuff…

there was that one caller
who sounded like a castrato and kept singing about elves. . . .
"I've noticed, Joe, that between the call-taking segments..."

Did they agree that you agreed with them?

You asked twice, so I'll answer twice
Yes. Yes.

If it walks like a troll
and lives under a bridge, and posts about chemistry and calling the FAN on a stat-addled site, it’s probably a troll, except that if it likes Rush, it’s probably a nerdy troll with good taste.
Yeah Metstradamus or Faith and Fear is probably more my style, but...
posting where everyone agrees with your style of thinking is boring and doesn’t challenge the mind at all. We’ve had some great discussions come out of my anti-stat posts here.

Open-minded, we are.
To rational arguments, that is.
Appreciating the effort with which French plays and his clubhouse demeanor is one thing. Making your decisions about who starts, who gets cut, and who gets vesting options (I’m looking at you, Vesty!) based on such considerations is doofy. This is something with which both Messrs. Coppinger and Prince would agree. (Trust me, it is.)
Really, though, I guess I’m just glad we’re discussing the Carlos and aren’t discussing Game 7. So thanks for that, at least.

Wow
People are actually still writing me off as a troll? lol I have more of a life than that, please don’t insult me like that ever again.
Yes, I like Jeff Francoeur and listen to WFAN. No, I am not a troll.

chemistry is overrated
Gimme production over chemistry any day, and Beltran is not by any means a bad “clubhouse guy”.

according to beltran, someone here mentioned
he is itbsohl. ‘winning chemistry’ is brought about by players who help teams win, francoeur doesnt do that. even a stat called WPA (win probability added, a descriptive stat useful in determining how much a player helped his team win) doesnt favor frenchy because he doesnt generally do much when it counts.

I like Ike
I don't know man
Frenchy congratulating his teammates after scoring a run must have added a significant amount of WPA, like .00014%.

I've got a fever.
And the only prescription is walk-offs, game-saving catches, and the most efficient basestealing in the game.
Or a mash-up of the Voltron theme and “Meet the Mets.” That’ll do as a palliative, as well.

my excitement can not be contained over such a production
wait…no…hold on…subconscience forming bad ’tron memories. QUICK I NEED A MONTAGE!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, my video skills...
… are trying. But if you watch the clips Ted Berg’s wrangled over at Tedquarters with this playing over them… you get the same effect.
