Pelfrey in unique company

The Diamondbacks scored six times in the first two innings to drive Mike Pelfrey from the game after just one-and-one-third innings on Monday night. Pelfrey has allowed 40 hits and 21 earned runs in 14.2 innings over his last four starts. He is the first NL pitcher since 1900 to allow more than 50 base runners (hits, walks, and HBPs) while recording fewer than 50 outs over a span of four starts. Two AL pitchers did so: Steve Sundra in 1941 and Mickey McDermott in 1950.source
