Manuel Gets Vote of Confidence From Minaya
Hopefully this is the type of "vote of confidence" that comes only weeks before said manager gets fired.

A GM has to say things like this regardless
But I think Omar actually means it. It might be the most annoying thing about Omar is that he never admits when he made a mistake. He just stubbornly leaves shitty players on the roster and shitty managers.

If we win tonight, Jerry's toast
Omar + terrible team slump + LA road trip + “midnight” = fired manager

Sweet
Those things are the kiss of death!
If there's ever a riot at Citi Field and Oliver Perez was the starter, I started the riot.
I <3 Wiggy
I hope the Mets make a trade for him. Not because I think he’ll help us win, but because I’m just a big Wiggy fan. He’s one of my favorite players in a “not that good, but you love him anyway” kind of way.
i remember i was so happy when randolph got fired
i literally skipped work the next day and just hung out with my girlfriend. i was thrilled. and then they made jerry the permanent manager, and i couldn’t understand it because as far as lineups and bullpens go, they were identical. i lost my faith in mets upper management that year. nothing will change. no one will be held accountable for bad moves, poor contracts, or anything of the like. i’m expecting to hear contract extensions for both as show of loyalty from fred and jeff

Willie was never the problem.
it’s always been the players Omar brings in to support the core.
One day, this team is going to kill me.
Well
I think he was a little bit the problem. How many games are we going to stick with Guillermo Mota when there are other guys in the pen who aren’t used?

that was my point.
him and Jerry are the same, therefore you could have kept WIllie and saved yourself the agony.
One day, this team is going to kill me.
He was bad still.
I’m just not sure who is worse at this point. And even Evan’s chart doesn’t help with this one.
I wish my boss gave me a vote of confidence
when I suck at work
goodness
I can’t decide who’s worse: Jerry Manuel or Willie Randolph
help me out guys: Mets managerial smackdown: who would you rather have?
Or is the immortal Art Howe worse than both of them?
"Fantasy, reality, science Fiction. Which is which? Who can tell?"
I don't think Art was worse than Jerry
Jerry actively loses games, which is hard for a manager to do.
I had no idea how much I would come to despise Jerry. I thought Willie deserved to go, after the collapse and then the team not doing much the first part of the following season, but it has to be said that I had no idea at that time how bad a manager could really be.
I don't have as vivid a memory of Howe so you're probably right
jerry is as bad as you can get.
Save Jenrry Mejia!
This is like asking,
“We are going to make you bleed to death. Which significant body part would you like us to amputate in order to accomplish that?”
