Prospect Retro on Our Former Top Prospect
Just thought some people might be interested in seeing this.
Here's a fun fact:
Milledge - .313 wOBA
Francoeur - .309 wOBA
And, while this is arbitrary, since Milledge's terrible April and Francoeur's excellent April, their slash lines look like this:
Milledge - .288/.369/.404/.773
Francoeur - .251/.291/.354/.645

Essentially, we gave Milledge up for Francoeur and two years of Brian Schneider. Lovely.
John Olerud, Hall of Famer. Got a nice ring to it.
well they're basically even at this point
I want Jerry Manuel fired now, not three years from now. That is my stance.- John Peterson
i'd bet though, that
were milledge still here, pagan would be an everyday OF when beltran comes back
It's certainly less certain than in the scenario above.

no Francoer is a much better clubhouse guy

Can you prove that?
Do you know that from first hand experience, from all your days in the clubhouse with both guys?
Neither are good, but given the choice, I’ll take the guy with the 9% BB% (6.6% career) over the guy with a 6.1 BB% (4.8% career)
francouer walks by month
april – 9
may – 5
june – 3
july – 2 so far, somehow
also, 6/19 are intentional
stats, they are seriously never in Francoeur's favor
And a year of Ryan Church
Gas prices today are a lot like a pitcher's ERA. Anything under 3 is amazing, under 4 is pretty good and anything 5 and up is something you want to avoid.

more like a half year
stats, they are seriously never in Francoeur's favor
Let's look at the ZiPS wOBA projections
Church: .331
Milledge: .325
Francoeur: .320
Church has been absolutely terrible this year (-0.5 WAR in 54 games). LMillz and Frenchy both have 0.3 WAR this season.
I was going to mention how at least Milledge is young and all, but...
Francoeur is only a year older than him. I knew Francoeur was young, but that put things in perspective, a little. At least Lastings has a cooler name. And, Jerry would have one more gangsta on the team. I don’t see Jeff Francoeur as very gangsta.

Gil Hodges IS a Hall of Famer.

he smiles too much to be gangsta
but his approach to hitting is gangsta
stats, they are seriously never in Francoeur's favor
I went to two games this weekend
and I was absolutely floored that Francouer was born the same year I was. I always thought of him as being significantly older than me.
2009 Did Not Happen
I know, right?
Forget Oliver Perez- Jeff Francoeur is mature. And Sandy Koufax.
