Where does Cesar Puello Rank?
After tonight's 3-3 with a walk, Puello now has a slash line of .299/.383/.368/.751. The .69 ISO isn't pretty, but at 19 he's shown he can hit and draw some walks. A 6.9% BB% is more that decent for someone his age at his level, even his K% has come down from 22.9% in Kingsport to 16.9% this year. And of course, his biggest strength as a player is his speed, 45 for 54 in stolen bases, good for an 83.3% success rate. He has a strong arm and good speed, Toby Hyde says he has power, just that it hasn't translated in game yet, solid discpline and is still young. If he played center (which he's probably capable of) his value would be considerably higher, but he's still probably top 5 in our organization right now.

top 5 overall?
or top 5 outfielders?
top 5 overall seems to be pushing it unless you’re not counting Meija since he’s not a prospect, and I think the reason he’s not playing cf is because he’s going to fill out and slow down, which is going to hurt his prospect status some too since they expect it to have a major effect on his speed.
mediocrity thy name is Wilpon- jdon
actually i lied
even with Meija I can’t think of 5 for absolute locks in front of him, I’m not sure if that says more about him or the organization though. But I imagine one of the biggest things hurting his prospect status is his expected growth and current lack of power, since scouts seem to think the growth will heavily negate his speed.

He is in that developmental stage of Kirk-pre-turning-on-fastballs.
If he keeps improving his BB and K rates and starts to hit for more power, then he can rank higher. If not, he’ll be a Francoeur-type who bashes the ball in BP practices but can’t do that in the game.
About his speed, I fear he falls in love with it and then wants to be a Ichiro Castillo type (singles+walks). Like getting to the 1B for the sole purpose of increasing his SB opportunities. Though this is just speculation on my part.
In lobby campaign for Chris Carter.
He's pretty tall with a wide frame... he's just still skinny muscle wise since he's so young
I guess that’s why they’re not even bothering with him in CF. At some point in his early 20s, he’s just going to explode into a tank.
he's been outstanding over the last month or so and if he keeps it going
he’ll be ranked pretty high. Maybe not top 5 but certainly top 10. Think about it…a 19 year old speedy OFer hitting with authority in the SAL, showing solid plate discipline skills and with room to grow to add power…I’d say that’s a solid prospect. Add in the fact that he’s supposedly got a solid defensive skillset whether in RF or CF and you’re looking at the makings of a potential breakout prospect in the system. I like his mix of skills…if he can continue to improve on the plate discipline and add in some power, he’ll be a good one. I remember he was hyped as a toolsy guy when he was signed a couple of years back. Hopefully he’s starting to grow into some of those tools now.

****whether he ends up in RF or CF*****
