Mets Community Prospect List 2010: #1

Hey everyone, I was flipping through some archival stuff from here the other day when I ran across Mark's series of polls from the Community Prospect List series. Like Mark said in his initial post, these prospect lists have been done at John Sickels' site, and I thought last year's version was a great success. So, I thought it would make sense to propose a new, updated list of prospects. For reference, last year's list was constructed thusly:

  1. Fernando Martinez
  2. Jenrry Meija
  3. Brad Holt
  4. Wilmer Flores
  5. Jonathon Niese
  6. Reese Havens
  7. Josh Thole
  8. Ike Davis
  9. Ruben Tejada
  10. Jefry Marte
  11. Jeurys Familia
  12. Kirk Nieuwenhuis
  13. Brant Rustich
  14. Robert Carson
  15. Kyle Allen
  16. Scott Moviel
  17. Dillon Gee
  18. Francisco Pena
  19. Zach Lutz
  20. Eric Beaulac

Obviously, this list is pretty outdated. Niese, Davis, and Mejia (!) have lost their rookie eligibility, and Tejada and to a lesser extent Thole are poised to lose theirs in the coming weeks as well. Some prospects, like Holt, have floundered, while others, like Lucas Duda, have excelled and almost certainly deserve placement on the list. So, without further ado, let's get this started. Mark's guidelines for the polls from last year should still apply, and I'll use his system of 8 prospects on the poll, with a list of testers to substitute in for guys who recieve a decidedly low number of votes. For the sake of having our farm system seem at least SOMEWHAT deep, I'll include Thole and Tejada in the polls, and remove them if and when they lose their rookie statuses.

The contenders: Fernando Martinez, Wilmer Flores, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Reese Havens, Josh Thole, Cesar Puello, Aderlin Rodriguez, Darrell Ceciliani

Testers: Ruben Tejada, Robert Carson, Cory Vaughn, Jeurys Familia, Brad Holt, Jefry Marte, Lucas Duda, Steven Matz, Juan Urbina, Matt Harvey, Eddie "Ruff Rider" Kunz
