Mets Community Prospect List 2010: #14
Welcome to the 2nd Annual Amazin' Avenue Mets Community Prospect List. Every poll will include eight candidates for the next spot on the list, as well as a separate group of testers. Testers will be rotated into polls with each new installation, replacing each poll's winner and any name that's not getting votes. After a few rounds, if a candidate on the ballot receives a decidedly low vote total , they'll be replaced on the ballot by a tester.
After the poll, Cory Vaughn is the clear choice for the #13 prospect in the Mets' system with 49% of the votes. Replacing him in the poll is 25 year old Josh Satin. No new testers have been added this round. To recap:

Eric Campbell
Really need Campbell on the poll soon. The guy just hits.
either Cohoon or Rodriguez
They’re really close. They’re the same age, Cohoon walks fewer, strikes out fewer, and is one level closer than Rodriguez, so he gets the slight edge for me.
Ratliff has alot of power, but he also strikes out alot. Additionally, he has not displayed this much power prior to this season.
Marte’s stats are impressive for a 19-year old in the SAL, but I think we’ve all had this discussion with regard to Fernando Martinez for a few years now.
I agree that Campbell probably needs to get on soon. Also Robbie Shields and Brandon Moore.
Ratliff's power
The guy’s power is no joke… He hit for plenty of it in college and had a .180 ISO in Savannah. I believe in the pop but yes the K rate worries me.

A season ago everyone and his/her mother was saying the Mets farm was as barren as an Arab mango farm
Now I look through the farm system and i see too many players with great potential to fit too few ML spots. In 3 years how would an outfield of Duda, Ratliff and Capn Kirk look? That could be the best OF in the NL.
This is a good farm system.

lots of bats
The Mets have some of the best hitting depth of any team. Look around at other teams, you can’t find anyone with as many guys with age appropriate performance.
I think they are still thin though on arms. And still a bit lacking in terms of higher upside top 30 overall type prospects.
In 2-3 years, I could see two of the OF spots occupied by Puello and Vaughn
and perhaps Ceciliani. Duda, Ratliff and Captain Kirk are also possibilities. We’re really well stocked with OF prospects.
The upside in the OF definitely looks good.
Save Jenrry Mejia!
In lobby for Josh Byrnes/Chip Hale as Mets 2011 GM/Manager.
yeah
remember when we were dreaming about the carlos gomez, milledge, f-mart of?
i’m not holding my breath, especially not for guys who really haven’t proven much above AA and a DH.
mediocrity thy name is Wilpon- jdon
That's why I said "upside"
whether they meet that upside is different.

Your sense of humor is remarkable, sir.
Though it is time The Rat made the list.
how is Kyle Allen #4?
Sad.
"Fantasy, reality, science Fiction. Which is which? Who can tell?"
er I was so blinded lol
I meant even on the list at #12..and Matt Harvey at #4. I read things far too quickly
"Fantasy, reality, science Fiction. Which is which? Who can tell?"
Harvey is #4 because he's our #2 pitching prospect
you got me on Allen though.

Harvey is a top 100 guy
Harvey has a good chance to rank in the top 100 overall. I think he’s definitely one of the top dozen guys out of the last draft.
