Rod Barajas, Master Of The First Impression
Rod Barajas's career OPS -- .697
Barajas's OPS, through his first ___ plate appearances (PAs) with a new team:
Diamondbacks, 1999, 18 PAs --.794
Rangers, 2004, 34 PAs -- .990
Phillies, 2007, 40 PAs -- .936
Blue Jays, 2008, 20 PAs -- .929
Mets, 2010, 18 PAs -- .984
Dodgers, 2010, 30 PAs -- 1.458
The plate appearance threshold is arbitrary, but whatever. I'd bet he has a firm handshake, makes effective eye contact and nails job interviews.

If his agent were smart
he’d insist that Hot Rod be rotated around the league every eight games.

A change of scenery does him good
You don't cheer for the Mets. You drink for the Mets.
Wow. That's impressive.

I witnessed his day against the Brewers
An upper deck 2 or 3 run HR and a couple hard hit doubles. He looked great. I think he did some nice things defensively too although it might have been different games in the series.
The next thing to do might be
to look at how he does on various amounts of rest. I wonder if that’s tied to this.
The Dodgers can use their Russian mystic to hypnotize Barajas
every so often, to make him think he’s just been traded there to keep up his torrid numbers.
