I saw this on the AZ Diamondbacks page and thought it was an interesting topic. There is really no 1 absolute right pick and should create some good posts. All MLB teams have a face of the franchise, for the Mets it has been David Wright the last few seasons, and for the Yankees is has been Jeter for a long time. Is it still Wright? Is there an heir apparent? What about the rest of the league?
These are my picks
NL
AZ Diamondbacks- Justin Upton maybe
Atlanta Braves- has been Chipper Jones, but I think it is Jason Heyward this season
Chicago Cubs- is it Matt Garza now, it use to be Carlos Zambrano but I think that is an image that want to lose
Cincy Reds- Joey Votto
Colorado Rockies- Been Todd Helton for awhile, but Troy Tulowitzki would be my choice now
Florida Marlins- Hanley Ramirez
Houston Astros- with Berkman gone is it Hunter Pence, I vote Figgy
LA Dodgers- was Manny, is it Andre Ethier
Milwaukee Brewers- Greinke takes it over from Fielder and Braun
New York Mets- David Wright, but will Ike Davis take it over
Phillies- Ryan Howard
Pirates- Andrew McCutchen
SD Padres- had been Adrian Gonzalez, not sure who grabs it- Orlando Hudson
SF Giants- Tim Lincecum
St. Louis Cards- Albert Pujols
Washington Nationals- Ryan Zimmerman, until Strasburg returns
AL
Baltimore Orioles-Matt Wieters
Boston Red Sox- it has been David Ortiz and Pedroia but my guess is it is Adrian Gonzalez andnot Crawford
Chicago White Sox- Paul Konerko
Cleveland Indians- I think they are hoping Carlos Santana becomes the guy
Detroit Tigers- Miguel Cabrera
KC Royals- Jeff Francouer???? now that Grienke is gone
LA Angels- Kendry Morales
Minnesota Twins- Joe Mauer
NY Yankees- still Jeter
Oakland A's- not sure here either- maybe Hideki Matsui, or a SP
Seattle Mariners- Ichiro
Toronto Blue Jays- Jose Bautista
I am sure there will be a lot of disagreement, and people I didn't think of, so letthe arguements begin. I am really unsure about AZ, SD, KC, CLE and OAK.
