Why?
Manny Acosta is a slightly-better-than-replacement-level bullpen piece who is making the MLB minimum, who possesses a 95 MPH or so fastball. What’s bad about that? Are the better bullpen guys out there? Sure. Is he adequate for the role he has, though? Yeah.

Meh, he does stink, but he's no worse than the average 6th man out of the pen.
If he’s getting bumped back into the Dessens spot in the pen than it’s not problem
I agree and in fact
I think he’s a bit better than we are giving him credit for. He’s likely not going to be a closer or set up man but he can capably pitch out of the pen for this team. Not to mention he’s making the minimum…that’s a positive too.

Agreed
With all of the Acostalypse Now stuff, I also figured that he was sub-replacement level, until I checked and saw that he wasn’t. He can pitch, and he can throw fairly hard. I don’t expect him ever to be a world beater, but I don’t expect him to miserably fail every time he toes the rubber, either. For the ML minimum, there are a lot of worse guys to have.

0.3 fWAR and 0.6 rWAR in 39.2 innings is not bad
He’s serviceable as a middle reliever. Acosta on the staff means one less roster spot to fill.

But Acostalypse Now
is still so fun!

This is ridiculous.
He hasn’t managed a game yet and he’s making up players already

"Fantasy, reality, science Fiction. Which is which? Who can tell?"
Clearly Josh Thole is the right choice for the #1 catcher spot because of his maturity.
After all, he got married!
glances at Oliver Perez
…oh shit
John Olerud, Hall of Famer. Got a nice ring to it.
Worked for Kris Benson

Fixed
Clearly Josh Thole is the right choice for the #1 catcher spot because of his maturity
which shown by marrying, like Oliver Perez, and he's really mature!
Squeezed to Song and Bendtner and Song and Nasri oh lovely lovely lovely!
