I am new here to AA and just by reading some of the FanPosts over the past few days I have been amazed at how intelligent (for the most part) the people that post here are. I also love the attitude and the comedy of the posts and conversations. So far my personal favorite would have to be HELLO HELLO MR WILPON. The initial post made me gag, but the comments afterwards were priceless.
All this reading has inspired me to write so seeing as we are now honing in on roughly two weeks before spring training, and it is that time of year when every single MLB franchise has playoff hopes and aspirations, I decided its prime time to start a discussion about our favorite playoff moments. Seeing as I have only been alive for four Mets playoff campaigns and really only remember the 2006 one, my favorite moment is Endy Chavez's catch from Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS. I just remember a feeling of pure euphoria and thinking that there was no way they could lose. Of course I was wrong, but I digress. My second favorite is Tood Pratt's homerun from the 1999 NLDS. Although I barely remember the game or anything else, I specifically remember the incredulous look on Steve Finley's face when he came down and realized that he didn't have the ball. And finally Robin Ventura's Grand Slam Single against the Braves in the 1999 NLCS is number 3. I grew up hating the Braves, and any time the Mets beat them was cause for celebration, particularly when one of my favorite players did it, with a grand slam, and than got mobbed before he could even get to second base.
So those are my three favorite Mets' playoff moments. I'd like to see what everyone else has to say, as I am sure that some other decades will get thrown into the mix. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
