This Date in mets.com History: January 31, 2007

Four years ago today, the Mets website took a look at the team's rotation for the upcoming year.  The sub-headline says it all: "After Glavine and El Duque, three spots up for grabs."

Some highlights:

  • Some of the names mentioned as competitors for a spot in the rotation: Oliver Perez, Dave Williams, Philip Humber, Jason Vargas, Jorge Sosa, and Aaron Sele.
  • The "Around the Horn" articles on the bottom right of the page.
  • This sentence: " Minaya said last summer he saw [Dave] Williams, under the tutelage of pitching coach Rick Peterson, as a potential 15-game winner."
