The Mets Killers Team: Catcher

Killer_medium
For a full explanation of this little project, see my introductory post here.

The Reader's Digest version: I'm working on a piece for the upcoming Amazin Avenue Annual about an imaginary team made up solely of Mets Killers, to see how such a team would fare when forced to play a full schedule against teams other than the Mets.

In today's poll, we look at catchers. Again, I would prefer responses be made on totally a completely emotional basis. So don't bother looking up the stats to see who really does best against the Mets, or who's really the best overall player. Just go with your gut. Guts never lie!

Poll after the jump.

I think he hit like 2 or 3 walk-offs against the Mets in the late 1980s.

I vote

Brian Schneider.

Oh, wait, you mean who killed us from the OTHER team….well since I watched the best moment in Yadier’s life happen in person at Shea, I’ll vote him.

If you want a killer who played for the Mets

Just look at this face.

Would have been well nicknamed “assault and battery”

I was tempted to vote Molina, but aside from the Heilman HR, I can't really remember any big hits he had

I voted McCann, because that guy has killed us constantly over the last five years

That one hit by Molina was big enough

in my book to equal and surpass everything McCann has done against us.

This

I don’t think Brian McCann has ever driven me to drink…yet.

yeah, the weight of that one swing trumps years of watching Mccann smoke us

Hey, wait! I'm having one of those things. You know? A headache with pictures?

Absolutely!

Yaider, no question

Every time I see him, I think of that damn smile and that damn HR. Easily out does anything McCann has done to us

My gut says that Molina HR was mostly an outlier

and probably not indicative of his overall performance against the Mets…..but I still voted for him.

by bjk3047 on Jan 5, 2011 2:33 PM EST reply actions

Yadier Molina

Even if his only big hit was the HR off Heilman he kills us (and everyone else really) with his D.

McCann is awesome against everybody so even he kills us it’s not like he’s over-performing.

Can’t remember Bengi of Pudge ever really doing too much damage although I’m sure Ivan wasn’t any help in 07 or 08.

Save Jenrry Mejia!

i still can't say his name without inserting the "Fucking" in there

its just like a middle name for him now

I go to school in St. Louis

and I’ve been to a number of Cardinals games, and everyone is absolutely fucking nuts for Yadier there, and I mostly just want to strangle him. I think the worst part is that I know he’s just so terrible and yet they can just point to that home run…grr now I’m all angry again.

David Eckstein: so gritty they would eat him in the south for breakfast with some butter and sprinkle cheese.

If I had the chance

I would punch Yadier Molina in his face.
