I was thinking about the possible realignment and what problems are currently present in the current system and I feel like the playoffs are too much of a crapshoot. In 2006 we had the 83 win Cardinals win the World Series. Last year I felt like the Giants didn't deserve to win the World Series as they weren't the best team overall. This year we had the 102 win Phillies knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. I don't think thats fair. To play 162 games and win 102 of them is incredible, and then to have no advantage come playoff time over the 91 win teams seems extremely unfair. I think that if we expand to a 10 team playoff system, then the team with the best record in each league should get a bye, and advance to the league championship. The other 4 teams would play each other to compete for a chance to play against the bye team. Then the winner of the league championship game would go to the World Series. What do you guys feel about this?
