Why Mets Fans Hate The Cardinals
From the AP game recap on 10/19/2006 after the Cardinals beat the Mets in Game 7 of the NLCS at Shea Stadium:
During the champagne celebration in their clubhouse, players gathered around several times and chanted "Jose, Jose, Jose, Jose," mocking the popular chant Mets fans crow when Reyes comes to the plate.

Yes
We really should get over these things. The Cardinals were douchebags, but so what? There are far worse fates than losing a game seven of the NLCS the way the Mets did….
See 2007-2011.
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
Agreed - far worse things
If Jose had been a Card and the Mets had won we would of cheered any Mets that mocked the Jose chant. I’m jealous of hell of the Cardinals, I’d love to have an org like theirs.
I think the fact that Ollie was starting game 7
pisses me off more than the actual game. Damn you Pedro and El Duque…
Mets, Jets, Islanders, Knicks.
GO RANGERS! Get Endy a ring!
I'm still getting over the fact it's been 5 years since this organization has done ANYTHING!!!
Sir, Our math shows that the bird is equal to or GREATER THEN the word. CHECK IT AGAIN!!!!
I hated them longer before that
The series in ’06 and their mocking chant just brought back the hatred.

Wasn't it nice in 2007
when we swept our opening four (three?) game series with them to start the season?

Time to update this: 2009 Did Not Happen. Neither did 2010. Or 2011. Sports suck.
I hated them more back then
I hate theBraves and Phils, the Cards I dislike. but I do like their fanbase. very supportive of their team and have shown good class many times, unlike Phillie fans

I like the Cardinals' uniform
I do not like the Cardinals, however.

I don't hate the Cardinals as much as everyone else
But I hate Yadier Molina’s stupid face and his dumb tattoos a lot.
Kicking knowledge in the face.
this
I wasn’t really around in the mid-80’s (I mean, I was, but I was more concerned with things like not pooping my diaper and breast feeding than the National League’s various pennant races)

I hate LaRussa and Molina's fat face
otherwise I don’t hate the Cards as much as I hate the Braves and Phillies.

And I believe braves hate gets brushed aside mostly for some reason.
I hate Philadelphia so much.

Couldn’t figure out why the Cards didn’t fall into the hate category for some Mets fans. It’s not like this was that long ago, and there was plenty of hatred in the 80s when both teams were contenders.
I know Phillies hate trumps all, but couldn’t believe the number of Mets fans who were cheering the team that stomped on the hopes of the last Met team to win anything just because they were beating another team that’s closer.
And their fans are overrated. They boo their team too, just not as often, so they don’t have the reputation that the East Coast teams get.

I've hated the Cards since '85...
…but I was hoping they’d beat the Phils, then get stomped by the Brewers.
Didn’t quite happen that way, but my money’s still on TEX.

I'd have some choice words for certain Cardinal players if they ever passed me on the street.
“F**k You” being two.

Terry *&$@^#%!! Pendleton
My dislike for the Cards goes back to 1987. I was at that fateful late season game when the Cards came to Shea and Terry Pendleton tied the game with a late inning HR. That was pretty much the end of the Mets that year.
