Two things I wanted from the new ballpark
To play neutral or close to it, and to be named New Shea Stadium. At least one wish is very likely to come through now.
its the Mets
I sense a huge overadjustment in our future. They’ll take the distance that the Mo Zone was deeper than the rest of the wall and make the wall that much shallower at the same area instead.
Hey, wait! I'm having one of those things. You know? A headache with pictures?

That way they just need to flip the wall upside down and viola, problem solved for cheap!

Frank Viola is flipping the wall?
What's the score, boys?
What did Bugs Bunny do?
What's with the Carrot League baseball today?
They didn't want Johnny Franco's boys do it

Latest details say
Mo Zone gone, left field wall down to 8 feet, and deep right center will be at 390 instead of 415. I like all the changes.
Ryan Miller was the true MVP. See my profile for rant.
Agreed

So are you saying that right center should stay 415?
Sorry, but that’s just ridiculous. You do realize that Shea Stadium, a park that leaned towards the pitchers, had a right center that was just 371 feet away from home plate, right? 415 in right center is just completely ridiculous and always has been.

Love love love the first two
390 seems a bit short, but we will have to see.
Agreed.
I’m really excited.

True.
I wouldn’t mind keeping the high wall somewhere, though.
Maybe we can change the rules so we can put it up in center field when we have a flyball heavy pitcher.

Have you ever seen José Reyes play?
If you had, then you would probably realize that this won’t have that much of an effect on his hitting.

Humor fail I guess
It shouldn’t effect batting average but it could effect his triples.

Ah, teh sarkazm
But yeah, his doubles and triples should decline, but his homeruns should increase.

too bad, triples, while not quite as valuable, are way cooler to watch
and kill rallies less

I don't know about doubles
Cause for Reyes, a deep double is a TRIPLE always

I'd like it if the dimensions were the same as Shea
A good pitchers park that didn’t completely cripple wright
Mets, Jets, Islanders, Knicks.
