it makes me sad it took this long for this post to go green
Hey, wait! I'm having one of those things. You know? A headache with pictures?

Today I learned that Michael Young is one of the best hitters in baseball.
Thanks, Buck and McCarver!
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
I can't really explain why it is, but as I watch these games, I find myself rooting for St. Louis.
It makes no sense at all, but there it is.

It might be Pujols
thats what’s driving me to root for them, even though I love Nelson Cruz too. You’re right, it makes no sense at all. Especially since the Cards have that fatfaced catcher. And the Rangers have Endy.

I really think it is my NL upbringing.
I really despise the DH.
The 2011 New York Mets: Assume crash position
My intense dislike
of Molina, Wainwright, Herzog, Coleman, McGee, Denny, Andujar et al dwarf by ill feelings of the DH.
What's the score, boys?
What did Bugs Bunny do?
What's with the Carrot League baseball today?
And Texas has better BBQ
and is where these were invented

I want to see Wilson roughed up again
the Rangers can come back and win afterward
They all suck
Because they have two first names… this isn’t hard, people.

I find myself rooting really hard for the rangers
as much as I’ve ever rooted for a team outside of the mets. The rangers have a bunch of likeable players and i love ron washington, and I absolutely can’t stand the Cardinals. On that inning ending strike out last inning I actually jumped up in joy.

I'm rooting for the Rangers
But i’m not a big fan of Washington or some of the players on the team.
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
Which ones?
The only one I don’t like is ian kinsler. There’s something about him that bugs me. As for Washington, I like how happy he gets when the Rangers score/win and it seems like the players really like him.

I like Cruz, Beltre and Napoli. Holland is okay too.
That’s about it. Not a fan of Young or Hamilton and I can’t stand Wilson.

Way too many IBB's.
That usually comes back to bite.
In my universe, it always does. I disdain the IBB. I didn’t even like the IBB to Pujols with two out and nobody on.
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
But he gets out of it anyway...
Cardinals are going to rue all these missed chances.
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
I'm in the same camp.
Very rarely do I like the IBB as well.
by MetsFan4Decades on Oct 24, 2011 10:36 PM EDT up reply actions
If Pujols had terrible hitters behind him
It might be defensible (especially with two out). He doesn’t, though. He has very good hitters behind him.
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
I'm OK when they try to pitch around a Pujols.
What drives me crazy is when they walk the number 8 hitter to face the pitcher. News flash: there’s usually a pretty good reason somone’s batting 8th.
What's the score, boys?
What did Bugs Bunny do?
What's with the Carrot League baseball today?
That is terrible.
Why would you not want to go after the guy and have the pitcher lead off the next inning?
I'm pretty sure that whatever Pujols thinks he should do
is what he should do. And if he had paid attention to the 3B coach, Holliday may not have taken 2nd.
Hi everyone
I’ve been watching these games but not on the computer (trying to save my ailing carpal tunnel wrists). But I missed you so I thought I’d stop by and say hi.
How is this game tied? The Cards have left a ridiculous number of runners on base…
by BurleighGrimes on Oct 24, 2011 10:35 PM EDT reply actions
The game is tied because the Cardinals are inept
And Allen Craig pulled a Ryan Ludwick and killed a potential big inning.
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
yeah, that caught stealing was ridiculous
he was out by approximately 23943294 feet, and ALBERT FREAKING PUJOLS was up at bat. Hmmm, paging Daniel Murphy…
by BurleighGrimes on Oct 24, 2011 10:37 PM EDT up reply actions
Hey there.
And aren’t you too young for carpal tunnel? Doesn’t bode well for your generation up and coming with technology. Someone needs to design a better keyboard or all your wrists across your generation will be shot by age 30.
Cards showing their weakness I suppose.
or Rangers just have more grission
by MetsFan4Decades on Oct 24, 2011 10:39 PM EDT up reply actions
I wish I was too young for carpal tunnel
it’s just started affecting me in the last year or so…it’s because I spend a lot of time on the computer AND I did a great deal of bicycle racing/riding as a youngster, which puts a lot of pressure on the wrists…
Cards need to lose. They are so freaking annoying.

Rangers in 7 was my prediction going in
But I’ll take them in 6 too!
by MetsFan4Decades on Oct 24, 2011 10:42 PM EDT up reply actions
On the one hand
I want the Rangers to win it, so I’ll obviously take a victory in 6. But the baseball fan in me loves game 7s, and I want as much baseball as possible before the onset of winter…

I think it's silly to bat Hamilton 3rd
given how badly he’s ailing…he is obviously a great hitter when he’s not hurt, but this is the world freaking series and it’s stupid to bat a totally depleted hitter 3rd while batting napoli 8th.
by BurleighGrimes on Oct 24, 2011 10:47 PM EDT reply actions

Buck and McCarver are getting on my nerves
why mention that Carpenter is at 100 pitches in a 2-2 Game 5?? I wouldn’t even mention his pitch count until he got close to 120

Moreland, not so much.

Wow
Moreland is really showing off his defensive skills tonight.
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
Moreland could have had that.
I remember these same type of good defensive plays from Elvis last year though.

On that note,
that split Moreland just did was pretty amazing though.

yeah, so true
relief pitching is notoriously hard to predict, but still…this is sad/crazy.

thankfully held on to that one.
And the Cardinals are now one-for-three thousand with RISP tonight.

I just love how managers play for the double-play.
Like nothing else could possibly happen… like a strikeout or flyball that results in you having to get another out BECAUSE YOU WALKED THE RIGHTY WITH DOTEL ON THE MOUND.

Napoli against a lefty
Is a brutal matchup. Brutal.
Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
not if Napoli hits into a DP
then it will have been brilliant maneuvering by genius LaRussa.

Oh pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the walls!
Can someone explain to me why LaRussa brought in a pitcher only to IBB someone
when he could’ve just had the last pitcher do it? Seriously, what is the reasoning behind that?
by BurleighGrimes on Oct 24, 2011 11:23 PM EDT reply actions
but why couldn't that time have been bought
by the last pitcher? I guess the time it takes for the pitching change was something, but…still. It’s just crazy managing.

Are we Mets fans rooting for either team? I’m an NL guy, generally. My memories of a stallion rookie by the name of Nolan Ryan is the only reason I would consider rooting for Texas. But Nolan, truth be told, hated NYC. … so?

Buck and McCarver are like white noise

You know what I did to deal with Buck and McCarver?
I muted them and started playing an episode of Jersey Shore off MTV.com. That actually made more sense than what they were saying.
And yet the overmanaging is still worse.
The WS commentary
is really dumbed down for what I assume are really casual baseball fans that hardly ever watch baseball.
