Trade Bay & Pelfrey

Mets Fans: Forget about Reyes. Let's trade Pelfrey and Bay to Boston, even if we have to eat part of the salary. Let's improve the pitching staff and at the same time give an opportunity to the group of young outfielders coming up from the minors. Let's re-sign Capuano. Sign starting pitchers Aaron Harang and Aaron Cook. Relievers Matt Capps and Ryan Madson. Sign infielder Yuniesky Betancourt. That's a good team complemented with some good arms like Mejia, Familia, Harvey and Wheeler.

Reyes to Betancourt?

I can get over losing Reyes, especially if Havens turns out to be what we expected.

But Reyes to Betancourt? That’s like going from driving a Ferrari to sitting in a pile of cow manure. And do they just disappear into the abyss that is Fenway? They send us a gift basket in return?

You didn’t give us much to work with here.

What do we trade them for? Why would Boston want to trade for Pelf and Bay?

And Betancourt? I’d much rather have Tejada at SS if Reyes is gone.

Yeah, I'm sure Boston is just dreaming of adding Bay to their roster

He’ll be the piece that really puts them over the top for next year. We’ll definitely only have to eat “part of” the salary to get that done.

The sad thing is that that might be the best idea in this post.
