Jason Pridie removed from 40 man roster, expected to clear waivers Friday
Well...this news seems to only further hurt the Mets standing with the ever fickle BABIP Goddess. At least they've got an extra 40 man slot, though.

As long as he clears waivers and is still in the system
I like Pridie, and would rather have him as the 4th/5th outfielder than some other candidates that are theoretically floating around.

I don't get it.
What does Pridie bring to the table? I’ve seen most people have him sticking around on the bench in their AAOPs. I see no discernible skills or particular potential.
He plays centerfield
Between scouts saying he has a good glove, and, in 300+/- innings in center, UZR said he was a net negative, but very slight (-0.6), he seems to be at least adequate in center, though where the middle ground between what the scouts’ eyes say, and what the statistics say still need to be squared away with more playing time. With the bat, he was eh, but had a little pop at times, and he does possess a little speed.
So, all in all, he’s a cheap CF replacement-player who doesn’t flat out suck, that has one smoking hot girlfriend.

and BABIP Goddess.

I'd argue with "doesn't flat out suck"
but now that I’ve seen his girlfriend, I don’t mind him on the team at all.
He had a 92 wRC+ last season.
What more do you expect out of a 5th OF known for his glove?
Save Jenrry Mejia!
He's a useful bench guy
1. Can give you solid defense at a premium position, premium defense at a corner.
2. Below average but not disastrous hitting.
3. Adds value on the basepaths.
4. MLB minimum salary.
5. Still in his prime, thus less likely to enter terminal decline next year than your typical journeyman 5th OF.
By fWAR, he was an exactly league-average player this year. That’s worth something.
He's better and cheaper than Gary Matthews Jr.
That’s good for something too.

I'm probably better and cheaper than GMJ, so that's not that useful of a starting point
