Welch and Maldonado find new homes

+

Mets MiLB free agents Brahiam Maldonado and Stefan Welch have both found new homes with the Braves and Pirates respectively. Maldonado had been with the Mets organization since he was drafted in 2004. He's shown off a nice power stroke the last few seasons, but is limited to a corner and has absolutely terrible command of the strike zone, posting a 110/404 BB/K ratio the last 3 seasons. Welch spent 2011 as a 22 year old at St. Lucie. He hit .271/.361/.438. Unfortunately, he is limited to 1B now and was repeating the level. So yes, this is a fanshot about two org guys going to other orgs to be org guys.
