They might as well not even play next year.

Are you suggesting that Jerry shouldn't have been starting Gary Sheffield and Fernando Tatis over him every single day in September of '09?

i always have, and always will hate Gary Sheffield with a fiery passion
and the fact he ever donned a Mets uniform is a disgrace as far as I’m concerned

He did good by us
I didn’t like the fact that Omar picked him up, but he played decently and didn’t do anything Sheffieldian off the field.

As dumb as it was to continually start those two,
starting Cory Sullivan and Jeremy Reed was even more egregious. At least Tatis and Sheff could hit a little. Reed and Sullivan were straight up AAAA trash.

Dickey be Praised!
all he needs for them to vest is to put on a Mets jersey in 2020
it need not even be his, or for a Mets game, but if he puts one on, then
he gets 30 million each of the next two years
OR the Mets can buy him out and pay him 25 million a year for 20 years starting in 2030
OR the Mets buy him out and give him a 5% owners stake of the team per year for the next 20 years
OR he can find a deal for himself with the best team in the league to be traded for any bad contract
2012 New York Mets, World Series Champions!
All he needs for them to vest
is either put on a Mets jersey or visit New Jersey.

Its easy to care when bench players have been the problem for the Mets for years now
Small moves that could make the team better have been constantly mismanaged. Nobody thought he should be a starter, but he was mishandled for years. But now we can move on.

Good Luck To Nick
His loss shows the Mets’ problem. To many of their major leaguers and potential major leaguers are in the easy to fill 1B/3B/LF/RF positions. Nick was one too many.
Pitchers and catchers are 56% of a major league roster. They should be 56% of the prospects. The Mets are getting pitchers now, but they still don’t have any catchers. They got lucky with Thole.
We might have 2 real catching prospects at single A.
Neither is going to be a monster, but they might be respectable platoon guys.
Cam Maron and Jeff Glenn, right?
I think Albert Cordero could be considered a legitimate prospect too

Well That's Good News
Too bad MLB decided to ban overslot once the Mets decided to build through the draft.

Yeah, what else is new
When the Mets finally do something right, it must be stopped. How else will they sell papers?

Hopefully, you finally get some playing time.

so long Dr. Who, I will miss saying this in gaming sessions…. hopefully he can carve out a niche with that team and do well except against us.
