I wonder when Boras, other agents, and the union start pressuring Selig behind the scenes to do something about the Wilpons. Having one of the two NY teams out of the game on FAs is really hurting their bargaining power. Or maybe they´re willing to wait a year, knowing that Selig is retiring after the season and that things might change then.

My prediction is that
If the Wilpons aren’t gone sometime during the 2012 season, they will be by the beginning of the 2013 season.

Its scary to think that there is even a tiny chance that Scott Boras could be the Hero the Mets need.
Down 2 in the bottom of the ninth?
Lets Bring in Willie Harris!
but not the hero they deserve
Time to update this: 2009 Did Not Happen. Neither did 2010. Or 2011. Sports suck.

I dunno
I’m hoping the precedent set by MLB forcing Frank McCourt out in LA can be used to force the Wilpons out too.
How the hell did we ever get to the point where the two richest markets in the NL, New York and Los Angeles, have broke owners who can’t hold the team together, while tiny markets like Milwaukee and Cincinnati have great owners who make bold moves for the Zack Greinkes and Mat Latoses of the world, and get their teams into the playoffs?

And don't forget that the Cubs and Tribune had their own money issues
that forced them to sell to the Ricketts family. Truly a shame that the three biggest market NL teams have been in such awful shape for years now.

It doesn't matter what size the market is, if Milwaukee and Cincinnati are in the position to win
They should by all means go for it. No team, in any market should be subjected to ownership who puts their own priorities at the expense of the team, I don’t care if they’re in KC, Milwaukee, LA, Baltimore, or Chicago. It isn’t fair to the city or the fans.

I'm not saying it should be different
I’m glad the Reds and Brewers have good owners. I want every team, no matter what the market size, to compete as best as they can.
It’s just bizarre how bad the big market teams in the NL have been of late (Philadelphia excepted of course).

Not as long as Selig is Commish.
He’s a hypocrite, and he wanted to get rid of Mccourt for the same reasons that the Wilpons should go, but unfortunately he’s buddy buddy with them.
