So here we are...
We've all spent months preparing for the inevitable: Jose Reyes leaving. Personally, I thought it would be easier than this to let him go but I can't seem to wrap my mind around how he will, in all likelihood be wearing a horrendous Miami Marlins jersey come spring training. I've grown up with him being a member of this team, and now that he's gone for all intents and purposes I don't know how watching this team is going to be enjoyable at all for the next few seasons, especially if Wright continues his regression. If ever there was evidence that the Wilpons are bad owners, it is the fact that they let their star player walk due to their own personal financial problems, and that they are too proud/stubborn/stupid to realize that they are only hurting themselves and more importantly, the team.

We are going to hear so much shit from Pomes-like fans.
I am worried about attendance this year.
I think it's fine.
What with the wailing and the gnashing of teeth
I might need to take a break for a while.
Today, as yesterday and the day before, it looks like a long shot that we get Jose back, and the Marlins seem as likely as anyone to get him. Sucks, but this is baseball. It’s like Ruth or maybe Damon, if we and the Marlins were both perennial contenders — in other words, lol. I mean, I feel the pain of losing Jose, but it’s not like this is not par for the course.
I guess my point is, let’s try and be a little bit dignified about it.
what is there to be dignified about it
we are the laughing stock of this town and have been since 2009.
One day, this team is going to kill me.
Oh, now, now. There is always the Knicks.

I don't care about basketball
baseball is my life, and I enjoy football late in the season, with an occasional sprinkling of hockey.
One day, this team is going to kill me.
The Nets will soon move into the City, so they'll take over that title

"Fantasy, reality, science Fiction. Which is which? Who can tell?"
I don't think it will be the next few seasons
I only see 2012 looking bad. Once we know what we have in our big prospects we’ll have a better idea of what to build around.

hopefully Wright comes back strong
He’s out the door too in July if they blow up the team.

Look on the bright side.
In a couple of years, the Marlins have another fire sale, and we get him back.

Gary Cohen: What's wrong with the script?
Ralph Kiner: Well the script should be the Mets win every day.
Jose Reyes left?
News to me.

It's wierd
This whole time I’ve been saying to myself, “You know what, if Reyes leaves its ok. The Mets will be just fine without him.” But now that he is actually gone I feel like shit.

This
It’s hard not to reminisce of hot summer days at Shea where I’d go to get a hot dog and come back to see the ball in the gap and Jose blasting out of the box and into third…

Man, we really have to hope that the Wilpons have to declare bankrupcy.
Either to restructure this crushing debt for themselves or to sell the team to a billionaire who can wipe out the debt himself.
We’re a couple years removed from a new stadium, we’re in market #1, team owns the cable channel and the Mets are still being run like middle market team. It’s ridiculous.
Middle market? Optimistic
It’s a poorly run small market team. They give money to all the wrong people and nothing to the right people.

gave
Sandy knows what he’s doing and watching him with the media tonight he seemed livid that they didn’t have the budget to resign Reyes, and I was hoping that at some point he was actually going to speak his mind and not just read the script that the Wilpons gave him.
