CBA Question
Ok, call me crazy, but we are Mets fans, so I'm not going to throw this out of the realm of possibility... say the Fish somehow find a way to sign Pujols (or another type A rated higher than Reyes) What does that mean as far as our compensation for Reyes? Gracias, as always.

Pujols ranks above Reyes, so we get a 4th round instead of a third
and we still get a sandwich pick. So basically it just means we move back in the line of which draft pick we get from Florida. Getting a 4th rounder for Jose is criminal, and how Heath Bell ranks higher I can’t fathom, but thats what will happen.
Hey, wait! I'm having one of those things. You know? A headache with pictures?
Got it, thanks.
Do the picks keep moving down if they continue to sign more and more type A’s?

depends on the FA rankings
if they keep signing guys higher rated than Reyes, then yes, it keeps sliding down. Eventually though, they have to run out of money… right?

Haha, I hope so...
This is what MLBTR has listed as the Type A free agents ranked higher than Reyes:
Albert Pujols, Cardinals – 95.200
Prince Fielder, Brewers – 91.200
C.J. Wilson, Rangers – 90.988
David Ortiz, Red Sox – 86.000
Ryan Madson, Phillies – 82.948
Heath Bell, Padres – 81.437
Carlos Beltran, Giants – 80.879 (cannot be offered arbitration)
Jonathan Papelbon, Red Sox – 80.292
Ramon Hernandez, Reds – 78.947
Roy Oswalt, Phillies – 78.350
Michael Cuddyer, Twins – 77.671
Josh Willingham, Athletics – 77.534
They also have these (physically) players listed above Reyes, but with lower scores, so I’m thinking there may have just been an error in the sorting:
Kelly Johnson, Blue Jays – 74.725
Matt Capps, Twins – 73.788
Darren Oliver, Rangers – 72.880
Full list here, updated as of 10/31: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/10/official-elias-rankings.html
I don’t think it would be too unreasonable for them to nab 1-2 more of these guys if they still have some cash available. It’s obviously highly unlikely, but maybe they could snag some combination of Fielder and Oswalt, or Oswalt and Cuddyer/Willingham. Puke?

they're supposedly the strongest contenders for Pujols right now, which is mind blowing
but i wouldn’t be shocked if they went after a combo of players like that. Its like the world has gone mad
